Rules & Guidelines

Please review all rules before participating

Eligibility

  • Only college students can participate
  • Participate individually or in teams of up to 4 members
  • No prerequisites or prior experience required
  • All team members must be enrolled in a college/university

Hackathon Format

  • Phase 1 (MCQ Round): 15 MCQs (10 from chosen programming language + 5 from HTML & CSS)
  • Negative marking applied for wrong answers
  • 30-minute time limit for MCQ round
  • Phase 2 (Portfolio Development): Build a personal portfolio website in 2.5 hours

Technical Guidelines

  • Use HTML, CSS, JavaScript (frameworks allowed)
  • Bootstrap, Tailwind, or any CSS framework is permitted
  • React, Vue, or other JavaScript frameworks are allowed
  • Submit via GitHub repository, Google Drive, or Netlify/Vercel link

Any form of plagiarism or cheating will result in immediate disqualification.

Find answers to common questions about the hackathon

Who can participate in the hackathon?

Only college students can participate. You can join individually or form a team of up to 4 members. All team members must be enrolled in a college or university.

Do I need prior coding experience?

No prerequisites are required to participate. However, basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and your chosen programming language will be helpful for the competition.

How does the MCQ round work?

The MCQ round consists of 15 questions: 10 from your chosen programming language and 5 from HTML & CSS. You'll have 30 minutes to complete the test. Negative marking will be applied for wrong answers.

What technologies can I use for the portfolio development?

You can use HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and any framework of your choice (React, Vue, Angular, etc.). CSS frameworks like Bootstrap or Tailwind are also allowed.

How do I submit my portfolio project?

You can submit your project via GitHub repository, Google Drive, or a live deployment link from Netlify or Vercel. Detailed submission instructions will be provided on the hackathon day.

When will the results be announced?

Results will be announced in April 2025. Winners will be notified via email and announced on the ProfileCraft website and social media channels.
